What a wonderful experience for these Verde Islanders witnessing the hatching of what looks like about a hundred sea turtles!
You can hear their exciting voices wondering how many baby sea turtles are exactly coming out of the hole and marching into the sea. You can also hear the sound of the sea waves nearby. It’s so beautiful to watch! Though the video didn’t show whether all the baby turtles reached the sea or not, we’re hopeful that my fellow Verdenians knew what to do: just marvel and let go. One guy exclaimed, “They’re going to swim now!”, so I’m hoping they all did the right thing. Well, knowing our folks in Isla Verde, they have so much respect for wildlife — something I am truly proud of!
Melvin Driz’s Facebook Reel showing the newly hatched baby sea turtles has more than 58,000 views as of this writing. We have shared it in our FB page. Click the screenshot below to watch it.

Verde Island is Home to Sea Turtles
From Engracio’s Beach Huts Rental, it’s a common thing to see a sea turtle come near the shore. Engracio’s is beachfront, so we feel so lucky to have such a close encounter. They come to hunt for sea shells, I guess. So, we just watch quietly so it won’t get scared and swim away quickly. It probably crawls to the sandy beach near Engracio’s at night time to hatch its eggs. Wonderful!
